Shanakiel Hospital has provided Cork with a high standard of patient care for decades. It is one of the oldest private hospitals in Ireland with a history of caring for people since 1918. The hospital is now entering a new era of modern first-class patient care.
Shanakiel Hospital is approved by the National Treatment Purchase Fund (NTPF). The fund enables patients on long public hospital waiting lists for operations to be treated privately at no additional cost to the patient. Treatments offered at Shanakiel Hospital include minor orthopaedic surgery, cataracts, hernias and general surgery including varicose veins.
The National Treatment Purchase Fund aims to reduce waiting times for patients on public hospital waiting lists as quickly as possible. The Fund will arrange and purchase treatment for public patients to be treated in private hospitals such as Shanakiel.
Many patients on public waiting lists are not aware that they are eligible for treatment through the Fund. Should you have any query in this regard please contact the NTPF directly on its Lo Call Number – 1890 720 820.
