Shanakiel Hospital is one of the oldest private hospitals in Ireland with a history of caring for people since 1918.

Acquired from the Duggan family by Quality Healthcare Ireland in 2004 the hospital is located on the north-west side of the city centre overlooking University College Cork. Originally catering for injured veterans of the British Army following both world wars, Shanakiel maintains its tradition as one of the best recognised healthcare providers in Cork today.

Shanakiel Hospital operates today with 44 beds designated for the provision of elective surgical and medical care.
